My best friend and I did an afghan exchange for Christmas last year. I made a granny rectangle one to match her living room decor and she made me this amazing ripple afghan in my choice of colors. It now has a permanent place on my couch and I couldn’t be happier!
Skill Level: Easy
Size: 60″ width x 72″ length
- Worsted weight yarn; I have used Hobby Lobby’s “I Love This Yarn” and repeated 2 rows of each color. You will need 5 skeins each (25 in total) of Peacock Blue, Keylime, Mixed Berry, Cornflower & Hot Rose.
- Size 5.5 mm (I-9) crochet hook
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends
Alternate DC Turning Chain (alt-ch): Turn your work. Do not work any chains. Make a SC in the first stitch of the row, insert your hook into the front left vertical bar of the SC and yarn over, pull up a loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through both loops. There is a photo tutorial of this technique HERE.
